LATEST NEWS (05-Oct-25, 19-Oct-25)

I've moved this computer (hazel) to the hallway. I am less-likely to trip over the cables with it being there, and it has the advantage that a blast of cold air wafts over it whenever I open the front door. This will help it stay cool without the case fan switching on. The drawback is that since the computer is sitting precariously on a storage heater - which is off - it could fall off if I move a cable. Comme ci, comme ça, as my mother used to say. I think that this means 'not good, not bad' or 'so-so'.

For no particular reason, I have moved the Pi-NoIR camera out of the kitchen and have stuck it in the hallway, where it can keep an artificial eye on hazel.
[A little later]
I just remembered that I already have a camera in the hallway. Not bothering to move the pizzacam.
One additional note regarding the camera: the suckers often fail; the dehumidifier dries them out and they come unstuck, when the camera will fall off the window or tilt weirdly. I usually correct this, if I see it. On 19th October, I edited the camera parameters and made the image much larger and brighter, so you should be able to see something at night. It may overexpose in the day.
